Here are some of the Screen Savers rated in this month's Hot Downloads:
Boogie Baby II (Win95)
There's something disturbing about this celebrated dancing baby — see for yourself, as 'it' now writhes to The Ritz. The 3D animation is in Windows AVI video format.
Frank and Louie (Budweiser)
Chameleons mumble about life and everything, between slurping up passing dragonflies...
Corkboard (Win95 / NT)
More than just a screen saver — write memos, keep a calendar and leave messages on your PC's screen. Very clever and lots of fun!
The Drawing Hand (Win95)
Watch your screen saver draw its own pictures — clever thing... (this shareware demo has just one drawing and a floating 'nag screen')
Jordan Motor Racing
Slick saver this, with fancy graphics backed by Europop tune (by Sash). If the sponsors were barred, would we lose this screen saver to the Far East?
South Park
A screen saver that abuses you — great, if you don't get enough already. Oh, and find out who killed Kenny. Must be installed from DOS — start up the DOS Prompt, change to your CD-ROM drive and the software\windows\bits\screens\southprk folder, then type install and hit ENTER.

STD Decoder v5 (demo) |
|
Get the latest 1998 searchable database of UK and International telephone codes – this is a brilliant and very popular program, informing you where people and companies are located by their telephone number, possibly saving you money, and just plain fun.
STD Decoder will tell you the general location of a prefix you key in, or, if you key in a place name, you get the prefix. With the area code in hand, entering the first three digits of the phone number gives you the neighbourhood.
The demo version gives you access to only part (though a not insubstantial part) of the full database.
